Mickey Theme Party Ideas

Are you getting ready to throw a Mickey party for your little one? This theme is fun, simple, and will have everyone, including the kids, admiring your event. I've put together a list of ideas to help bring your vision to life.
This was the theme we chose for my son's first birthday. I'm not sure who was more excited about it, me or him. Read on to see the list of ways to create your perfect event.

1. Striped Paper Straws

A simple touch to your snack table is red and white paper straws. That combined with Coca Cola Bottles makes an adorable set up that your guests will love. I purchased mine from Michael's Craft Store.

2. Mickey Ears Cake Topper

Amazon has a great selection of Mickey theme cake toppers. For my son's cake, I chose a topper in the shape of Mickey Ears. Here is one that is similar. We also had an Oreo cake to stick with the black and white theme, yummy!

3. Mickey/Steamboat Wille Plush

I purchased our Steamboat plush from the Disney store, but many other retailers offer Disney merchandise now including Target, JcPenny's, Amazon, & Walmart. Steamboat Willie is better for a black and white color theme, where as the most notable mickey is great for a theme that has red, yellow, and black.

4. Popcorn Maker

To complete the retro feel for my son's theme, I purchased a mini popcorn maker from amazon, which was affordable, and was a nice statement piece for the snack table. We served the popcorn in striped movie-type popcorn cups.

5. Mickey Head Banner

This handmade Mickey Head Banner creates the perfect touch. It's simple and modern, but can still coordinate with a retro Mickey theme as well. It's available in black, white, and red, making it easier for you to customize the banner that's to your liking.

6. Wearable Mickey Ears

The kids really loved the Mickey Ears that they received with their goodie bag. Amazon sells them and it's great because it comes with half Mickey Ears and half Minnie Ears with pink bows so the kids can choose the one they want.

7. Black and White Polka Dot Tableware

To keep the consistency of the theme going, we used a black and white polka dot table cover and polka plates too. That paired with black utensils and white napkins to keep it simple and fitting. I got my supplies from Hobby Lobby which has a range of party supplies and colors/patterns.

I hope this helps with your party planning and inspires you!
